Spine Robot Hurls Cinder Blocks

Mark Pauline tested the Spine Robot cinderblock hurling capability. Mark says, “Best throw was about 15-17 ft.” Video shot from a small drone. Distance of throw 16ft on the 3rd try. Standard Cinder block. Boston Dynamics’ Big Dog was only getting about 10-13 ft.

SRL Drone Testing

Mark Pauline did some testing for a new camera platform SRL will be using at shows in the future. Using a Hero3 and a drone from DJI-Innovations. This setup will be used at this Thursday’s (March 7 2013) Robot Night at the Cal Academy.

Making a Claw for the Spine Robot

The claw for the Spine Robot was completed yesterday, October 23, 2010. It was designed by Mark Pauline. It is made out of ‘special’ heavy duty aluminum. Chris Bohren, DV Rogers, Geo Homsy, Babalou, Roger Carr, and Karen Marcelo were around to observe ‘testing’. Video from Karen Marcelo
